What is the best HD output setting?

Postby mediaplayerdude » Sat Feb 06, 2010 1:31 am

Just wondering what is the best HD output setting to have the device set to? I have it connected to a HD TV via the YPbPr cable and currently have it set to 1080i. Most of the movies I play are off the net and normally much lower res than 1080i. I assume the set is scaling up and just wondering if I would get better results by setting it to 720p or not HD at all?

Thanks

720p is almost same with 1080i, no big difference, personally i think 720p is better

unless your main objective is shooting video for dvd you should try shooting 1080 30p. that way your source is good for HD, online video and can be interlaced during encoding for dvd. the last thing you want is youtube de-interlacing your video. send them 1280x720 30p with a bitrate of 5-10mbps and aac audio. they can't make a mess of that.
