Regarding Turn Off/On Issues

Postby p-t-p » Thu Jul 29, 2010 1:11 am

Hey All,

Been using the AP-110D for a quiet a while now and when I got It I had issues with it not turning off properly and having to unplug the power to turn back on. Eventually I upgraded the firmware to v1.75 and thought it had fixed the problem but eventually I realized it didn't.
Then I started to get issues with pressing the stop button. It may work perfectly now but tomorrow you could sit there for ages pressing it to try and stop what was playing.

Eventually it got the better of me and I thought stuff this, I got a HD LCD TV, DVD, Media Player ( AP-110D ), 2x Digital DVT Decoder Boxes ( One with twin tuner ) and sound system.

All have their own remote control. So I purchased a Logitec Harmony and NOT once has my AP-110D never not shut down properly again. Its always turn back on after a shut down.

Makes you wonder whats going on with not only the firmware but I really think there may be an issue with the remote control as well considering its worked flawless using the logitec harmony.

Anyone else here using a Logitec Harmony care to put your two cents worth in?

I too started using a logitech harmony with the ap110d as I was sick of pushing buttons on the original remote and nothing happening...thus far seems to be very responsive.

I have a Harmony 525 that works well with my 110D(running the new 1.9.2 beta firmware).

It could be that the remote is sending multipul signals to the player if you are a little too heavy on the button, perhaps a habit from your experience with the original remote. There is a delay that you can alter in the remotes setup to correct this, check under 'delays' , 'inter key delay' etc. in the Harmony help screen to see which one is needed for this situation or scroll through the FAQ.

You can check the operation of the remote first by giving it the shortest of presses next time you turn off too see if it stays off in this situation.

Good to hear I am not the only that has had much improvement using the harmony humpda ;-)

I think you may have got confused with my post Andy10. I am completely satisfied with using the harmony with no issues what so ever now I am using the harmony.

The issues I had with the standard remote that come with the player didn't seem to work that well. My stop button only worked when it wanted to and not when I wanted it to work.

And now I am using the harmony the player does turn off every time and turns back on every time too now. Before when using the standard remote I had the same off/on issues that you see posted in the forums where you would have to unplug the player and plug it back in to turn on. This no longer happens to me now I am using the harmony.

Great to hear your also having good results too Andy10 ;-)
