Dyson fans have another hair tool to add to their wishlists, with the new Dyson AirSmooth Hot Brush in Ceramic Pink and Rose Gold now available at David Jones for $399.
The launch is good news for shoppers who have been waiting to get their hands on the latest addition to Dyson’s hair styling range, because this product is currently listed as out of stock on the Dyson Australia website.
Designed to dry, stretch, smooth and shape hair in one step, the AirSmooth aims to simplify the styling process while helping reduce snagging, breakage and frizz.

It combines a heated-air styling system with a brush designed to work from the roots through to the ends, making it an option for anyone who wants a smoother finish without juggling multiple tools.
The new colourway is another drawcard. Ceramic Pink and Rose Gold give the brush a polished finish, adding a little luxury to a bathroom shelf or styling station.

But it is the design and technology that could make this launch worth watching.
Unlike a traditional paddle brush, the AirSmooth features a teardrop-shaped head designed to reach closer to the roots. Its tapered end helps users get into the areas around the scalp that can be tricky to smooth, while the shape also lends itself to creating volume, soft bends and flicked-out ends.
The idea is to make it easier to style the entire length of the hair, rather than concentrating on the mid-lengths and ends while struggling to get close enough to the roots.
Another key feature is the brush’s dual-bristle technology. PivotFlex bristles are designed to diffuse airflow from their base, while anti-snag bristles help the brush glide through the hair with less catching and improved scalp comfort.
For anyone who regularly battles knots during blow-drying, that is a welcome consideration. Less snagging can also mean less unnecessary pulling on the hair while styling.
The AirSmooth also uses controlled airflow to target the areas that need it, with the aim of reducing disruption to the hair and helping minimise frizz and flyaways. Dyson says the system is designed to deliver a shinier finish while improving thermal comfort around the scalp and neck.

Heat management is another major part of the design. Glass bead thermistors measure airflow temperature more than 20 times per second, allowing the tool to regulate heat and help protect hair from extreme temperatures.
While no styling tool can eliminate the risk of heat damage entirely, temperature regulation is an important consideration for anyone who regularly blow-dries or styles their hair.
The brush has also been designed with everyday convenience in mind. Its motor sits in the handle to improve balance and manoeuvrability, while the lightweight, ergonomic construction is intended to make longer styling sessions more comfortable.
Frequent travellers may appreciate another feature: universal voltage. The AirSmooth automatically adapts to the voltage available in different countries, making it easier to pack for overseas trips. Travellers should still check the plug requirements at their destination.

For those already considering the purchase, however, its arrival at David Jones provides another place to shop while Dyson Australia’s own website is out of stock.
The Ceramic Pink and Rose Gold finish is likely to appeal to shoppers who appreciate a beauty tool that looks as good on display as it does in use, while the combination of root access, controlled airflow and intelligent temperature monitoring gives the AirSmooth plenty to talk about beyond its colour.
The Dyson AirSmooth Hot Brush is available at David Jones for $399, subject to stock availability.
