Some fragrances remind you of a person. Others transport you somewhere entirely different. Goldfield & Banks’ latest perfume aims to do both, bottling the heady atmosphere of a Western Australian sunset in a scent made for lingering summer evenings.
Sunset Hour Dark Peach, the Australian luxury perfume house’s richer interpretation of its much-loved Sunset Hour fragrance, launched globally in August 2026.
Inspired by Broome, where golden light shimmers across the water before the sun disappears into dusk, the new Eau de Parfum captures that delicious transition between afternoon and evening.

It smells like warm skin, salty coastal air and the promise of a night that could go anywhere, and trust me when I say that people will stop you and ask what perfume you’re wearing; I know this from experience.
Taking the signature Australian Desert Peach at the heart of Sunset Hour, the new release introduces a rum-infused composition designed to bring additional depth and warmth to the original fruity fragrance.

Created by Goldfield & Banks founder and creative director Dimitri Weber alongside perfumer Clément Marx of Robertet, Sunset Hour Dark Peach belongs to the ambery-fruity fragrance family.
Its opening combines Rum Jamaica with Pink Berries and Mandarin Italy, creating a bright, fruity introduction with a spirited edge. Organic Ginger from Madagascar brings a gentle spice to the heart, joined by Benzoin and Upcycled Ylang for a creamy, sunlit quality.
Then comes the dry-down, which is where things become especially interesting for anyone who gravitates towards warmer fragrances.
An overdose of vanilla unfolds into Woody Ambers and Tonka Bean, leaving a velvety scent trail designed to linger long after the initial burst of fruit has faded.
With a 25 per cent fragrance concentration, the Eau de Parfum moves from juicy brightness into a deeper, enveloping warmth.
It is an appealing direction for fragrance lovers who enjoy fruity perfumes but want something with a little more richness for evenings, dinners and occasions that stretch well beyond sunset.
According to Weber, the new fragrance takes the original Sunset Hour ingredients and immerses them in rum.

“Deeper, warmer, and more addictive,” he says of the scent, which he describes as capturing the moment when the evening’s energy begins to rise and twilight gives way to night.
Marx brings his own perspective to the creation, drawing on his training in Grasse, France, and experience working with master perfumers Jean-François Latty and Michel Almairac. The fragrance uses Rum CO2 to evoke golden reflections across the sea, while mandarin and organic ginger bring to mind the fresh, salty coastal air.
For those unfamiliar with the brand, Goldfield & Banks was founded in Sydney by Weber and is recognised as Australia’s first luxury perfume house. Its approach combines native Australian botanicals and ingredients with French perfumery expertise, creating fragrances inspired by the country’s landscapes.
Sunset Hour Dark Peach builds on the success of one of the house’s bestselling scents, placing Australian Desert Peach at the centre of a composition that is both familiar and distinctly different.

And while the inspiration might be a Broome sunset, the appeal extends well beyond Western Australia. With its combination of fruit, spice, rum and vanilla, this is a fragrance that could earn a place in the rotation of anyone looking for a scent with a distinctly summery personality.
Sunset Hour Dark Peach is available in 100ml and 10ml Eau de Parfum sizes. The smaller format offers an opportunity to try the fragrance before committing to a full bottle, or to keep a favourite scent close while travelling.
For a perfume inspired by the last golden light of the day, its real appeal might be how it makes you feel long after the sun has gone down.
