According to the interview with Marie Claire Australia Lifestyle, Barber designed it to feel like “the best hotel I have ever stayed in”, taking inspiration from the iconic Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles and Madame Reve Hotel in Paris.

“The brief we were going for was an edgy hotel,” she said.

Barber described her vision of creating a home that could provide a place to wind down after she returns from touring and travelling the world.

She is currently on an 11-date tour of the UK and Europe with her show, Backup Dancer.

“My home is my sanctuary because I work so much. I just love going home, locking down, closing up those curtains and not leaving,” she told Marie Claire Australia Lifestyle.

The bathroom features an egg-shaped freestanding bath and strip lighting, while the luxury kitchen has a butler’s pantry and pink marble.

“I put in a request to get the pinkest possible part of the stone that I could. And then where it joins above the oven, it looks like a vulva, which I love to remind my teenage boys at breakfast,” she told Marie Claire Australia Lifestyle.

Other features include bold artworks by the likes of artist David Bromley, ’70s-inspired furnishings, pendant lighting, sheer curtains and, in the lounge room, a large print of Barber performing live on stage hangs above the couch.

Interior designer Gessner described Barber as “the perfect client”.

“Celeste’s style is eclectic and arty and she’s open as well, which makes her the perfect client,” Gessner said.

“It helps when someone can make really strong decisions.”

Barber’s latest property move follows her shock split from husband, Api Robin, who she famously referred to as ‘Hot Husband’ on her Instagram account.

Barber has remained tight-lipped about the break-up since Robin announced the couple had decided to end their 20-year marriage via an Instagram post on February 13.

“The past few months have been incredibly challenging and deeply heartbreaking for us both,” Robin wrote.

“After much reflection, the decision has been made to separate.

“There is still love and respect between us, but sadly we are at capacity and have come to recognise we may want different things.

“Our priority remains our children and their well being. We kindly ask for privacy and understanding as we navigate this”.

The couple share two sons together and Robin has two daughters from a previous relationship.
